SustainaMetrix has been working with the Center for Sustainability located at Cayetano Heredia University to assist with strategic planning and application of the SustainaMetrix methods for their award winning work in the Humboldt Current and SW Amazon.
The CSA’s desire to employ a systems-based Orders of Outcome framework was well-founded considering the high level of complexity of their work, involving multiple sectors, stakeholders and opportunities for a more desirable future . Dr. Majluf noted that “SustainaMetrix was invaluable for helping us to frame success metrics in time-bound and measurable dimensions which will be extremely useful as we implement programs and seek further funding. They are helping us build evaluation capacity to increase learning on program effectiveness, and committing to regular adaptation is important. When woven into program design, evaluative thinking will shape purpose, goals, sequence and prioritization of actions, refining indicators of success to increase learning and adaptation.
The team developed a lengthy list of products including:
- Systems-based Logic Models
- Strategic Plans for Humboldt Amazon programs
- Recommendations to CSA
- Orders of Outcomes Matrix
CSA and SustainaMetrix will continue to work together and build a garden of hope and regularly communicate success metrics, convening reflection dialogues, and sharing lessons learned builds capacity for program evaluation.
