Alan Furth

Alan is a social ecologist with a career dedicated to leveraging education in its broadest definition, to contribute to personal, community, and environmental health. With degrees in Child Development and Experiential Education, he has taught at every level, from early childhood through high school, in rural Maine public schools, and at the undergraduate and graduate levels as a member of the leadership and faculty of Lesley University’s Audubon Expedition Institute. In 1999, he and a team of community members  established the Cobscook Community Learning Center in Trescott, ME.  He is a coalition and bridge builder. These skills and his lifetime commitment to “place” and CCLC’s broad social-ecological work grounded in easternmost Maine make him an important member of the SustainaMetrix Team.
